Redkite from farm 2 U is based just outside the village of Llangadog, we sit in the foothills at the bottom of the Brecon Beacons with some of the farm within the National Park. The farm is called Rhiwe but our flock of sheep are Redkite, hence our name.

We have a flock of free range hens producing an assortment of free range eggs in all colours and sizes. We have hens kept for breeding including La Bresse, La Fleche, Arucana, Austalorp, Ixworth. Our laying birds free range in the fields. A breeding program will also include production of free range meat birds. Our meat birds are housed in Chicken Tractors, these are moved daily and help to maintain the pasture.

Vegetables and fruit are grown in our no dig beds next to the house. They are built up and left to develop using a mixture of manure from the animals, fleece from the sheep and recycled cardboard. We have recently planted an orchard in the hens paddock.

Wanting to utilise as much of the farm as possible, harvest from the hedgerows will include elderflower, sloes, blackberries, holly, as available through the seasons.
